Hi. I am Lindsey Reed and I have started a project to create a way for people to feel more comfortable exploring and talking about wine. In my twenty-five years of working in the restaurant and wine industry it has become clear that there is a need for an approachable way to learn about wine. More than that, there is a desire for a different conversation to take place—one without judgment, intimidation, or pretentiousness.

It all began with rocks. A Bachelor of Science in Geology from UCSB led to a deep dive into soils and farming. I was mentored in biodynamic and regenerative vineyard practices and spent two years learning to make wine in Santa Barbara County. I've had the honor of managing the restaurant floor at Satellite in Santa Barbara and Bell's in Los Alamos. I currently work as the beverage manager at Aperitivo wine bar. Since 2020, I've been teaching "The Wine Class" at UCSB.

During this time I have developed and cultivated a loyalty for producers who farm ethically and craft pure wines. Experiencing different ideas, cultures, and tastes has instilled in me a desire to continue learning about the history and nuances of wine and, just as important, to share what I learn with others.

I want explore beyond Robert Parker scores, master sommeliers, and Michelin stars with you.
